The Use of Fractional Lower-order Statistics in Acoustical Environments
نویسندگان
چکیده
Robust time delay estimation is necessary for many microphone array applications. Reverberant echoes and background noise can corrupt the estimates. Typically the signals and noise are modeled as Gaussian random processes and second moment information is used for time delay estimation. However, many signals are impulsive and should be modeledusing alpha-stable distributions. Because ofthis impulsive nature, the second-order moments are theoretically undefined. This paper will review the important characteristics of alpha-stable random processes. Time delays will be found using lower order moments. Finally experimental evidence will show the superiority of lower order moments for TDE in real acoustical environments.

Approximate solution of the fuzzy fractional Bagley-Torvik equation by the RBF collocation method
In this paper, we propose the spectral collocation method based on radial basis functions to solve the fractional Bagley-Torvik equation under uncertainty, in the fuzzy Caputo's H-differentiability sense with order ($1< nu < 2$). We define the fuzzy Caputo's H-differentiability sense with order $nu$ ($1< nu < 2$), and employ the collocation RBF method for upper and lower approximate solutions. ...
متن کاملDOA Estimation Based on Sparse Representation of the Fractional Lower Order Statistics in Impulsive Noise
This paper is mainly to deal with the problem of direction of arrival (DOA) estimations of multiple narrow-band sources impinging on a uniform linear array under impulsive noise environments. By modeling the impulsive noise as -stable distribution, new methods which combine the sparse signal representation technique and fractional lower order statistics theory are proposed. In the new algorithm...
متن کاملNonlinear image denoising by Fractional lower order statistics
In this paper, we propose to use a class of filters based on fractional lower order statistics (FLOS) for still image restoration in the presence of α-stable noise. For this purpose, we present a family of 2-D finite-impulse response (FIR) adaptive filters optimized by the least mean lp-norm (LMP) algorithm. Experiments performed on natural images prove that the proposed algorithms provide supe...
متن کاملExistence and uniqueness of solutions for p-laplacian fractional order boundary value problems
In this paper, we study sufficient conditions for existence and uniqueness of solutions of three point boundary vale problem for p-Laplacian fractional order differential equations. We use Schauder's fixed point theorem for existence of solutions and concavity of the operator for uniqueness of solution. We include some examples to show the applicability of our results.
متن کاملInteger-order Versus Fractional-order Adaptive Fuzzy Control of Electrically Driven Robots with Elastic Joints
Real-time robust adaptive fuzzy fractional-order control of electrically driven flexible-joint robots has been addressed in this paper. Two important practical situations have been considered: the fact that robot actuators have limited voltage, and the fact that current signals are contaminated with noise. Through of a novel voltage-based fractional order control for an integer-order dynamical ...
